Member of the 9th House of Representatives
Onofiok Akpan Luke Represents Etinan/Nsit Ibom/ Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, National Assembly. He is the Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary. As Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, he has canvassed for positive and transformational reforms in the Nations Judiciary and Justice System through bills, motions, stakeholders engagements and public advocacies.
Prior to his election into the National Assembly, Luke had served as a two-term member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, chairing Committees of Appropriation and Finance, Judiciary, Justice, Human Rights and Public Petitions, Education, Agriculture at different times.
In 2015, by the amazing grace of God through the support of his colleagues, Luke was elected as the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. A position he used to partner with Governor Udom Emmanuel to pursue the development and prosperity of Akwa Ibom State.
He began his public service as a legislative Aide to a member of the State House of Assembly and later on served as personal assistant on protocol matters to Governor Godswill Akpabio in 2007. In 2008 he was elected pioneer Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament. He had a brief legal practice at Shepherds and Fortress Chambers, Uyo.
Luke holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Uyo, an Institution he served as Student Union President in 2002 and at present serving as the National President of the Alumni Association. He is also a member of the University of Uyo Governing Council.
Onofiok Luke also holds a Masters of Law Degree from the University of Calabar, Calabar. He has attended Executive Education Programmes at the Harvard Business School, United State of America. Alliance Manchester Business School, United Kingdom. London Business School, United Kingdom. Yale University, United State of America. He is an Alumnus of the International Visitors Leadership Programme of the United States Department of State.
He is a Youth Ambassador of Olusegun Obasanjo’s Presidential Library. He is also a Fellow of Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI). Luke has legislative interests in Youth and Women Development, Judiciary and Justice Sector, Information Technology, Education, Regulatory Architecture reforms, Environmental and Constitutional Reforms.

Luke is married to Uduak Onofiok Luke Ph.D and they are blessed with four (4) Godly Seeds.
